Service-Oriented Locally adapted Enterprise Architecture
In Finnish

SOLEA project

SOLEA is a project which studies and develops solutions, models and methods of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) approach for locally adaptable Enterprise Architecture in various organizations. The project is mainly funded by the Finnish Agency of Technology and Innovation TEKES.

SOLEA aims to provide answers to questions such as:

  • How service-orientation should affect EA and how is helps to align Business and IT?
  • How the benefits of SOA are achieved and how to adapt generic solutions and standards locally in relation to SOA?
  • How to identify and define services to maximise the promised business benefits – cost efficiency and adaptability – through reuse?
  • How to deploy solutions effectively and make sure of interoperability in the networked economy (B2B requirements)?

Participants

SOLEA participants include industrial companies and healthcare districts (end-users aiming to accomplish a good SOA and EA by renewing their IT infrastructures), systems integrators (companies helping end-users in their SOA) and product vendors (who offer infrastructure or components for service-oriented solutions).

The research is carried out by University of Eastern Finland, HIS R&D Unit and Aalto University, Software Business and Engineering institute (SoberIT). Participants include Finnish Agency for Technology and Innovation Tekes, Konecranes, OP-Pohjola, Commit;, CSC - IT Center for Science, Datawell, Fujitsu Services, Hospital district of Helsinki and Uusimaa, Intersystems, Itella Information, Logica Finland, Mawell, Medbit, Metso, Hospital district of Northern Savo, RAY, Hospital district of Satakunta.
