Study Psychologist Katri Ruth

Study psychologist works in The Barrier-free Study Path to Work Life -project. This is a partnership project with Kuopio University, Savonia University of Applied Sciences and HUMAK University of Applied Sciences. The goal is to develop educational methods that takes into consideration the barrier – free studies, to develop student counseling methods and make a model for study psychologist work.
The work of the Study Psychologist can be seen as a mixture of counselling given in faculties, study advisors and the mental health services of the Finnish Student Health Service. Study psychologist is planned to be for the students who may have difficulties in the progress of studies or other issues concerning learning and studying environment. Study psychology is focusing for example on learning skills and strategies, motivation, stress and coping, time-management and enhancing ones resources to cope with studies.
For now some piloting processes are going on, but the study psychologist has no regular appointments yet. However, if you have study-related problems than can not be helped otherwise, you can contact study psychologist by e-mail: katri.ruth@uku.fi
