CLINICAL TRIALS During the last 10 years we have done about 15 clinical trials for food industry both nationally and internationally. One of main areas of our group has been to study the role of dietary phenolic compounds and other nutrients in heart diseases. In these studies we have use both epidemiological study designs and clinical trials. The most important studies have been Coffee study, Chocolate study, Phloem study, Asta-study and Fenolics-study. Examples of study designs and results of these studies are presented in the Study populations & Clinical trials –section.
In October 2006 an internationally acknowledged certification and quality assurance organization Inspecta Certification Ltd. approved Quality sertificate SFS-EN ISO 9001:2000 to our research institute. We can plan and carry out studies and research projects in a totally confidential manner. We submit all study protocols to the local Research Ethics Committee for review and approval and make agreements in co-operation with Research and Innovation Services of University of Kuopio.
