Terms and conditions for use of electronic resources
Access to electronic resources is regulated by copyright
legislation.
Kuopio University Library and Kuopio University Hospital Medical Library
have licenced electronic publications and databases mainly
by cooperation with the Finnish National Electronic Library (FinELib).
Access rules and regulations, which all users must follow,
are defined in these licences.
Kuopio University students and staff as well as Kuopio University
Hospital staff may use the electronic
resources on the Kuopio University and the Kuopio University
Hospital networks. Access is also possible from home computers
using
remote access
or
Nelli portal. Remote access is allowed as long as studies or
employment last.
Kuopio
Open University students are allowed to remotely access FinELib
licenced publications and databases as long as their studies last.
Other customers ("library walk-in customers") may use the electronic
resources only on public access computers in the library.
The resources may be used for non commercial academic purposes,
such as teaching, studying and research.
All other use such as commercial or business-oriented use is
prohibited. Permitted use includes unlimited displaying and browsing
the resources on the computer screen. You may also print and save
small amounts of material.
Systematic downloading (such as complete volumes and issues of
journals) is prohibited. A file may occasionally be emailed to a
co-worker or colleague as part of research collaboration.
It is prohibited to use the electronic resources for any
commercial purposes. You may not distribute the resources
by any means to parties that are not permitted to use the resources.
You may also not post the resources on your own web page.
Please ask the librarians if you have any questions about the
permitted use of electronic resources.
