Faculty of Business and Information Technology
The Faculty of Business and Information Technology is one of the five faculties of the University of Kuopio. The Faculty was established on 1.1.2002 by restructuring the organisational structure of the university. At the moment there are three departments in the faculty: - Department of Business and Management
- Department of Computer Science
- Department of Mathematics and Statistics
The mission of the Faculty is to promote renewal of enterprises towards modern service industry of the information society. The research and teaching topics of the departments of the faculty constitute a strong multidisciplinary combination, which provide to the faculty good facilities to respond to this challenge. Together with other faculties of the university and the institutions and enterprises of the campus area the faculty works to increase the level of know how and to improve the well-being of the community. The areas of expertise of the faculty have a remarkable impact on the financial well-being of the community. The objective of the faculty is international level basic research, which also has a link to the applied research of the local industry and commerce.
