Department of Biosciences
The Department of Biosciences belongs to the
Faculty of Natural and Environmental
Sciences. The fields of expertise are biochemistry and applied biotechnology.
High quality research at international level is conducted especially in
bioinformatics, system biology, bioscientific chemistry, animal biotechnology,
applied zoology and plant and food biotechnology.
The bioscience curriculum provides graduates with a firm background in modern
biochemistry, molecular biology, bioscientific chemistry, molecular
bioinformatics and biotechnology opening a wide range of employment
possibilities in fields where expert knowledge of biosciences is required. The
training qualifies for research work and for expert functions in biosciences and
also forms a sound basis for Ph.D. studies.
