Institute of Biomedicine

The Institute of Biomedicine is one the main institutes of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Kuopio.  

The Institute of Biomedicine has a major role in taking care of the first two years of preclinical education, and tutoring of medical students. The Institute is also responsible for teaching anatomy and physiology for students in biosciences, clinical nutrition and pharmacy as well as two degree programs providing full study program in major subjects of ergonomics and exercise medicine. 

In addition to the basic education, the Institute participates in the postgraduate education and carries out scientific research work focussing on various fields of biomedicine.
