Studies
| The biosciences education in the University of
Kuopio is organized within the Biosciences degree program. The Department of
Biosciences (Chemistry,
Biochemistry and
Applied
Biotechnology) coordinates the degree program’s curriculum. The education
given by the Biochemistry unit is based on high-quality research in
modern biochemistry, molecular biology and molecular bioinformatics.
The new Bioscience curriculum provides the students extensive basic
knowledge in chemistry, biochemistry and biology. In addition, M.Sc.
students get profound knowledge in their major subject. Those majoring in
biochemistry may choose between biochemistry, bioscientific chemistry or
molecular bioinformatics as their major study module.
The graduates will have the opportunity to get various employment
positions within the fields where expert knowledge of biosciences is
required. The training provides abilities for research work and expertise in
biosciences and also qualifies for Ph.D. studies.
